6/20-The Great Lakes Regional Championships concluded today with the JO competition. Thanks to Pat Spezia and the excellent staff of The Great Skate rink for providing the first class service and facility. Thanks also to all the officials and volunteers who made this an awesome Regionals. A special treat for the Great Skate Wolverines was a visit by the legendary Virgil Dooley and his wife, Sue. 6/19-Regional records fell at a record pace on the super-fast floor of The Great Skate rink on day 2 of the Great Lakes Regional Championships. Complete Standard Individual and Relay Placements here. 6/18-Day 1 of the Great Lakes Regional Championships is complete. The Standard Individual competitions were held and many regional records were broken on the floor of The Great Skate rink. 6/1- USA Roller Sports (USARS) announced the 2004 Senior World Team and Junior World Team to represent the United States at the Federation Internationale de Roller Sports (FIRS) World Inline Speed Skating Championships from August 28 through September 11 in L’Aquila, Sulmona and Pescara, Italy. The Wolverines place three of their members on the team. Jessica Smith Senior World Class Women, Heidi Shockley Senior World Class Women, and Kelly Gunther Junior World Class Women. 5/28-The 2004 Outdoor Nationals are underway at the USA Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, CO. Placements for Wolverine Speed members after two days of competition are as follows. 4/29-The Great Lakes Pre-Regionals will be held this weekend at The Great Skate, in Roseville, MI. All relays will be held Saturday, May 1. Doors open at 3:00pm, racing starts at 4:00pm. Individual event will be on Sunday, May 2. Doors open at 5:00am, racing starts at 6:00am.
4/28-The Roswell Roller Rink in Georgia USA closed its doors on April 1, 2004. The Precision Inline Racing Team will continue training on the floor of the closed rink for a few more weeks, until it has been torn down to make room for a new office building. When that happens, the team will make arrangements to train elsewhere. skatlog.com

4/21- Christine Morrison is the first to make it out of Regionals!!! No, not speed skating regionals, she competed last Tuesday at the Regional Forensic Competition (a debate competition) and took first place for the International Academy in Story Telling. She will be competing at the State Meet in early May. Congratulations Christine!

4/13-The 2004 World Inline Cup series began on Sunday, April 11 in Seoul, Korea. Wolverine Team members Theresa Cliff-Ryan and Jessica Smith of the USA along with Nathalie Barbotin of France and Kuck Chae-Yi of South Korea are skating for the KIA-Verducci team, with Gary Ryan of Australia the team manager.
