UPDATED 3/8/02
Name: Pam Coletta

Age/Date of Birth: 46, 7/11/57

Division: Veteran Ladies

Number of years skating: :  Began in late 1996 with beginner classes, with first sanctioned competition in 1999 until last season, for a total of 7 years.

Favorite skating accomplishment: :  Doing a 40K race, Sept. 7th, 2003, in Marblehead, OH, for the Great Lake Escape and taking first place in the women's 45 - 49 division.  I never, ever thought I'd do something like that and have to give a special "thank you" to Lee Corney for encouraging (kidnapping me, too, and getting me back in time to do the beginner class that day, yet) to do it, no less.

What is your skating goal for this year?: To put all my energies into and entirely focus on coaching/structuring the Beginner Speed Program as I intend to continue to strive to give students what speed skating gave me.  (And words just can't describe that.)  "There isn't a better sport on the planet."

Favorite Competition: I always felt best about and looked forward to the 500 meter race at Regionals.

Hobbies (not including skating): Coordinating my music for SPINNING classes at the Warren Y and enjoying a new direction in life with my kids, Camron and Chris, along with Chris' girlfriend Randi and a very special someone in my life, "Lee", with his kids and granddaughter.   (Equals my favorite hobby:  "Enjoying and living life to it's fullest.")

Who do you admire in skating and why: Former quad skater and my best friend, long time competitor AND training partner of many years, Eva McCrum.  She's been of constant support both on and off the floor, which had given me SO much inspiration inside my heart.  "YOU GO, GIRL!"  It's been and always will be coaches Robb Dunn and Jay Ingram, because of their passion for the sport.  They are THEE best in bringing out the best in you!  Making every practice I could, back then, also made for a strong competitor.  And that's what the Wolverines are.....strong competitors.
